Best Kaohsiung Travel guide 高雄必去景點必吃美食

If Taipei is the hustle & bustle New York, then Kaohsiung is Los Angeles, always with beautiful sunshine and green area to hang out. I am lucky to be born & bread in Taichung, visiting my grand parents every year in Kaohsiung, and studying in Taipei.(That's why I can always travel to different cities hehe) This time I will share my favorite places in Kaohsiung(Sorry I didn't have the chance to explore lots of food there cuz we often ate at home)
如果比喻台北為紐約，則高雄就是加州，充滿溫暖的陽光和一大片一大片的綠地。高雄一直是我很愛的城市，不但道路寬廣，食物也好吃，重點是在愛河沿岸跑步真的是人生一大享受，這篇可能美食不會著墨許多(回老家都吃家常菜)，而且其實高雄頗大，光景點走完就差不多啦！話不多說看Alex選了哪些地點吧~

Besides, the best way to explore Kaohsiung is metro & cycling! It's a biker-friendly city, providing complete cycling route.
題外話，天氣許可的話，探索高雄最棒的交通工具就是捷運和腳踏車，在高雄騎單車比台北舒服太多了，有完善的單車道，好比回到歐洲騎車悠閒的感覺！

高雄著名景點 Kaohsiung must-go places
元亨寺Yuanheng buddhist temple

Beautiful traditional Buddhism temple with a large bell. Good to go for a walk there
元亨寺是高雄人都會去祭祖或拜拜的地方，有很多法會等，我喜歡的是他的建築很有東方禪意韻味，還有一個大鐘好像可以去敲來祈福(不確定可不可以打，要問廟方)
壽山(柴山)Shoushan

This is the mountain you can see lots of Formosan macaques! Get your trainers on and explore the tropical forest and coral reef

我很愛壽山，不但能看獼猴還能享受芬多精和多樣化植物，由於它以前是海底隆起地，所以大多是珊瑚礁岩，也有很多神秘的岩洞可以探險(記得戴手套探照燈)！

愛河Love River

If you come to Kaohsiung without walking or running along Love river, don't say you've been here!

愛河從小玩到大，看著它越變越美，下午沿著河畔跑步，搭配一路上的綠地美景，完全不輸紐約中央公園啊！！！

中都濕地Jhongdou Wetland Park

Wetland is the new green area here, with lots of drawbridge and wooden architecture. If you have extra time, then come here to relax.
近幾年才開發的中都濕地是個充滿許多木建築和吊橋的綠地，離美術館不會很遠，如果高雄很多景點都跑過可以來這邊走走，很適合紓緩壓力的地方。
夢時代Dream Shopping Mall

The biggest shopping mall in Kaohsiung with cute Ferris wheel
高中就很愛去的夢時代近幾年已經變跨年必去聖地，摩天輪聽說不錯(單身如我就是死都不想搭XDD)，逛街起來也很爽，都很大間！
光之穹頂The Dome of Light

I think everyone will go after seeing this photo :) Pay more attention on the painting above
來高雄必去的地方啊，在美麗島站，去了怎麼拍都美，有空可以駐足仔細觀察上面的畫作
旗津西子灣Cijin District

First take bus 50 from Central Park station, and you will arrive Xiziwan. Then go on the boat(around 20) to Cijin. It's a good place to eat night market food(Try Tomato with soy sauce) and chill at the beach. If you are lucky, you may have the chance to see beautiful sunset.

我愛死西子灣旗津這邊，從中央公園坐50號公車直達，然後幾十塊搭個船就能前往傳說中的旗津！到達後可以嘗試很多小吃，我爆愛吃炸魚漿蛋，朋友則是推沾醬番茄，吃飽喝足散步到海邊吹著微風，幸運的話說不定還能看到夕陽喔 :)

駁二藝術特區The Pier 2 Art Center
香蕉碼頭Banana Pier
No need of picture, you just need to go there & banana pier because they are as important as love river. Lots of beautiful sculptures and paintings. Great to have a drink at the Banana Pier, enjoying the breeze from the ocean.
駁二和香蕉碼頭不用我多說，大家應該都聽過他們的盛名。我很愛去駁二看看藝術展覽，戶外雕塑品或行動藝術，最後到香蕉碼頭喝杯冰啤酒，看著海浪起伏，畫為一天的完美結尾(我超想喝但一直沒機會><)
中山大學NSYSU
NSYSU is just like NTU in Taipei, with huge campus to hang out. When I was little, my whole family will go there for biking and picnic.
中山大學就像是台北的台大，有廣大的校園供人使用，小時候整個家族會去那邊野餐，騎單車，是個很適合多人郊遊的好去處。
美術館Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts

This is the most beautiful art museum in Taiwan. The collection focus on talented artists no matter young or old. Recently they even have Kusama!! If you have time, please bring your trainers to run along the museum, enjoying the elegant Madagascar Almond around you.
高美館一定要去，除了裡面的展覽多樣化，我認真覺得高美是全台灣最美的博物館，不但裡面好比中央公園一樣廣大充滿各式生態(比大安森林好多了)，戶外的小葉欖仁更是絕美，清晨沿著戶外跑步真的是人生一大享受。(來高雄請準備你的運動裝備)
高雄市立圖書館總館 Kaohsiung Main Public Library

This library is as exquisite as Eslite book store(Or should I say better cuz the books are for free!) You can pick up the book you like and find a cozy seat to enjoy. Besides, please take the elevator to the sky garden(The highest place here), and get the best Kaohsiung view without any cost.
高雄圖書館根本就是誠品，甚至更好，不但擺設很有質感，藏書量也頗足，超多舒服坐位不怕你來，有空記得到頂樓空中花園參觀，一毛錢都不用花就能看到很棒的高雄景觀。
打狗鐵道故事館Takao Railway Museum
This is the place for people who are interested in the history of Kaohsiung. If you have tight schedule, then skipped here.
這邊算是第二順位的景點，可以知道很多高雄的鐵路歷史，但當你很趕的時候可以跳過這邊。
中央公園 Central Park & 新崛江Shinkuchan commercial district

It's pretty chill to walk in the central park first, and then go shopping in Shinkuchan to end up a lazy day in Kaohsiung.
當你懶散不想跑很多地方可以來中央公園，這邊算是市中心，可以散步完去旁邊的新崛江或大立精品逛街挖寶，最後在附近吃飯當作慵懶結尾。
巨蛋Hanshin Arena Shopping Center

Sorry this is the only photo I can find haaa. I love this shopping mall because it's adequate size and lots of amazing food stands inside(I love Cha For Tea this restaurant). I

漢神巨蛋一直是我心頭好，以前總會跟堂姐去那邊喝星巴克，或去享用喫茶趣，但如果去了夢時代就可以省略這邊啦，就都是百貨公司。

凹子底公園Aozihdi(Metro station with a beautiful park)

If you go to KMFA via metro, you will stop at this metro station. Please save some time for here, walking along the tremendous garden and green green grass.(I wanna live around here!)
去美術館的路上通常會再凹仔底捷運站下車，出站別趕著走，留點時間在這個公園散步，有很豐富花種的庭園，還有很棒的林蔭大道可供行走，走完再騎單車去美術館晃晃吧 :)
橋頭糖廠Taiwan Sugar Museum

The sugar museum is totally worth a visit! You can ride a bike, try ice pop, and explore the creative railway art to spend a half day.
我愛死橋頭糖廠，這邊超好玩的，不僅可以悠閒的騎單車晃一大圈，還能看很多美麗的火車藝術，最後再去吃個冰結束糖廠探索！
愛河之心Heart of Love River

The night view of here is divine. Please ride a bike here to enjoy the stunning love river.
必去景點就是愛河之心，晚上騎單車來這邊真的很美，看著愛河心情就會變好！
蓮池潭 Lotus Pond

It's my biking spot as well(Fuck I was so ugly then) Come here if you have extra time.
蓮池潭也是我愛的單車景點之一，但如果你時間太趕可以省略，沒那麼重要。
85大樓Tuntex Sky Tower

It's the highest place in Kaohsiung, just like 101 in Taipei. The best thing is you can rent a room here with affordable price.

85大樓就向高雄的101很高，可以看VIEW更能用平實的價格入住，有空再去那邊晃晃，其實去圖書館就能看到很棒的景了。

丹丹漢堡Dan Dan Taiwanese Burger

Dan dan burger to Kaohsiung is like Shake shack to New York City! Must try their breakfast with traditional noodle soup!
丹丹漢堡是高雄必吃的早餐啊，漢堡奶茶加麵線的超級怪組合，吃起來卻超對味，地瓜薯條也很好吃，顯然就是一家混搭功力極強的餐廳！
海之冰Ice Bowl(Big portion fruit ice)

They are famous for super big portion ice with lots of fruits on top! Try it

海之冰不用我多說你一定也聽過！

廣東汕頭勝味牛肉店Beef Hotpot

This beef hotpot is my dad's favorite since he was a child. Mainly local customers here~

這家是老爸小時候就愛吃的牛肉火鍋，是很多高雄人記憶的好味道

老新台菜 Retro Taiwanese Deep Fried

This retro Taiwanese restaurant provides not only old-time decoration, but also tasty delicacie
老新台菜不但裝潢復古十足，東西也好吃有創意，把很多老的台菜用新的精緻手法呈現
冬粉王Duck Rice Noodle King
Try their duck & rice noodle~It's a really old restaurant still maintain good quality.
冬粉王就是要吃鴨肉，和招牌所寫的冬粉，算是還是有不錯水準的老店
華成肉包 Meat Bao
Please buy their meat bao when you head back home! It's fucking tasty with juicy meat & egg!
華成肉包小時候奶奶超愛買，雖然有點肥，但每次咬一口熱呼呼流汁的蛋黃肉包超幸福的~
米糕城 Pork Rice with Milk fish

This rice pudding is super delicious! You must order it with milk fish(Soft & tasty like tofu), and pork intestine soup!
米糕城很愛他們家的米糕，虱目魚(神好吃，我超愛)，還有四神湯就能輕鬆解決一餐
阿囉哈滷味 Braised Meat
This is a good take-out braised stand, from pork intestine to tofu, they all make it quite tasty!
這家爭吵很久的店(我也不知到哪家是老店，該不會是吵鬧煙霧彈行銷，然後回家一起分紅XD)，蠻愛吃他們家的蘭花干和口香糖(鴨腱腸)
婆婆冰Popoice

Old style ice! But I prefer their milk tea more haaaaa
雖然說要吃冰，但我小時候最愛的反而是他們家的紅茶牛乳！聽起來就很厲害(明明就奶茶)
老正興Chiense Traditional Monopterus

This super old restaurant is like my memory of CNY. Usually whole family will gather to eat lots of heavy deep fried food like Monopterus & Radish cake!
這家是我們家族的過年必吃的餐廳，雖然有點老舊，但東西真好吃。必點炒鱔魚和蘿蔔絲餅，看到阿姨輩的服務生，拿油澆在剛炒好的鱔魚上，嘶嘶作響的聲音讓食指大動啊！

These three restaurant are more high-end. If you have extra budget and want to have a romantic night, go to these three~
接著三家也是吃過覺得不錯的飯店餐廳，預算比較高，印象中寒軒超級好吃，服務也好，Hotel dua則是港式點心好吃，記得都要訂位！
REVE CAFE黑浮咖啡

Try their banana chocolate waffle cuz baby, it will lead you to heaven!
他們家真的蠻便宜的(高雄的咖啡館都佛心來的阿)，重點是香蕉巧克力鬆餅神好吃！超大份
Handwich Cafe

Good grilled cheese sandwich & delicious fries. The only pity is their soup is not that delicious~
他們家的三明治烤的不錯，薯條也讚，唯一缺點湯很難喝XD
CAFFAINA cafe
I didn't have the chance to go cuz it's always fucking full! Better go their during week days. The decoration is really loft style.
這家高雄最夯的咖啡館，我一直不幸沒進去過，每次去都大爆滿，但工業風美麗的裝潢讓我一直想一探究竟啊！
